Bahram Khamenehpour, PhD, PE, GE
Senior Vice President Geoscience Group Manager
Bahram received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, and has over 23 years of experience as a
civil and geotechnical engineer specializing in geotechnical and earthquake engineering and hazardous material assessment.
Since joining AGS in 1983, Bahram has managed over 400 geotechnical studies in various subsurface conditions.
He has performed and directed geotechnical studies for a variety of water resources, marine, building, heavy civil, and
transportation projects. Bahram has provided clients with innovative solutions to specific problems in the areas of field
exploration, lab testing and engineering analyses, geoseismic hazard evaluations, foundations, drainage, earthwork, and
construction recommendations. He has prepared engineering reports, plans, and specifications, and he has monitored foundation
and earthwork construction and has consulted with contractors regarding difficult subsurface conditions.
Bahram's role at AGS goes much deeper than a manager with organizational skills. Staff and clients rely on him as a source
of technical information and turn to him to provide innovative solutions to specific geotechnical problems. For example, in
1995 the Economic Development Administration recognized San Francisco's Pier 45 earthquake damage repair project with an Award
of Excellence for successful design and construction. This project was the largest compaction grouting job ever completed in
the United States.
Bahram joined AGS in 1983 and was formerly with Dames & Moore and Woodward-Clyde Consultants in Southern California.
