As part of a $105.9 million bond measure passed in November 2000, the Branch Library Improvement Program (BLIP) calls for 17 branches to be renovated. AGS is providing civil engineering design services for two of these libraries.

Client: City and County of San Francisco
Location: San Francisco, CA

AGS is currently tasked to provide civil engineering design services for site improvement, grading, drainage, paving, utilities, and sustainable LEED features for all stages of the design. Both projects are seeking LEED Silver Certification. Sustainable features include improvements to stormwater quantity and quality, such as reducing runoff, increasing detention capacity, maximizing soil percolation, and delaying time of concentration and time of travel. AGS is working closely with landscape architects Suzman & Cole Design Associates to maximize LEED features through design of bioswales, stormwater detention, and pervious pavements.

Bayview "Anna E. Waden" Branch Library was built in the late 60’s and will be demolished to build a new one story 9,000 square feet library.

The Parkside Branch Library was built in 1951, a classic example of mid-century architecture with original features. The project involves renovation of an existing 5,890 SF library and a 985 SF expansion, meeting current seismic and accessibility codes.
