This project included environmental site assessment, site investigation, regulatory compliance, and remediation for multiple sites to support Airport expansion and construction projects and on-going operations.

AGS’ scope of work for Phases I and II included initial site assessment, health and safety plan preparation, environmental soil and groundwater sampling and testing, asbestos assessment, remedial investigation/feasibility study[RI/FS], remedial work design, and environmental oversight during remediation. The firm’s responsibilities included coordination with the Airport staff and contractors/subcontractors during the Airport Expansion Project. Subject sites included UST sites, several hangars, ground maintenance facilities, fuel lines, industrial waste sites, transformers, and vehicle washdown/ maintenance areas. UST RI/FS tasks included: [1] Locating USTs and subsurface lines based on a review of maps, historical documents, and retaining a locator service; [2] Evaluating data collected during drain sediment sampling to assess whether the extent of contamination was sufficiently defined; [3] Conducting soil gas surveys; [4] Conducting subsurface investigations; and [5] Performing a screening risk evaluation and developing a remedial action plan with plans and specifications. Phase IV included environmental assessments and characterization investigations, design and operation and maintenance of groundwater treatment systems, evaluation of vapor-generated odors, preparation of a residual contamination management plan, conducting a RI/FS of petroleum and lead contaminated sites, management of contaminated soil stockpiles, coordination with regulatory agencies, remediation and demolition oversight, stormwater pollution prevention services, spill response and clean-up oversight, and construction management services.
As a JV prime consultant, AGS provided professional environmental consulting services on a Task Order basis which included site investigation, remediation litigation support, risk assessment, demolition, asbestos and lead-based paint abatement, construction management and oversight, geotechnical works, regulatory agency negotiations, stormwater permitting and monitoring services, site civil engineering services, capital improvement projects, peer review of consultant work and other engineering, planning, management, and environmental services as needed. The initial time and materials contract was for one year and the Airport opted to extend on a yearly basis for several additional years.
