As a participant in the Federal 8a program, AGS, Inc. has been tasked by the US Army Corps of Engineers San Francisco District [Corps] to concurrently prepare two updated Operations and Maintenance, Repair, Replacement and Rehabilitation [OMRR&R] Manuals for Coyote and Uvas Creeks in Santa Clara County.

Client: US Army Corps of Engineers
Location: County of Santa Clara, CA

The Santa Clara Valley Water District [SCVWD] owns and operates the Coyote and Uvas Creeks. Uvas Creek is a creek which flows from the Santa Cruz Mountains. Coyote Creek is actually a large river whose main source is in Henry W. Coe State Park and the surrounding hills.

The primary objectives of the OMRR&R Manuals are:

  1. To maintain the components/reaches of a flood control project that meets Corps design specifications according to the Corps standards of performance;
  2. To gradually bring components/reaches of the flood control project that do not meet recently adopted or anticipated future Corps design specifications into compliance with these specifications; and
  3. To provide a plan for interim flood protection should a flood event occur prior to completion of proposed repairs and rehabilitation activities needed to bring the project into compliance with Corps standards.

As part of the same project task, AGS will also be performing an environmental assessment to recommend mitigation measures to minimize the social and environmental effects resulting from future proposed actions.
