Transbay Block 5

AGS provided geotechnical engineering services for Transbay Block 5. Transbay Block 5 is a new mixed-use office development near the corner of Beale and Howard Streets. Geotechnical staff have performed three borings and eight CPTs and lab work is currently underway in AGS’ in-house facility. The Project is a 42-floor class-A+ multi-tenant office building comprised of approximately 700,000 rentable square feet. The base of the office tower will have an outdoor landscaped public space, retail tenants and a multi-story lobby.

It is anticipated that the project will have an underground parking structure that may be three stories below street level. It is anticipated that the project will utilize a steel superstructure with lightweight concrete on metal deck floor slabs, cast-in-place concrete structure for the lower portion of the tower and post-tensioned cast-in-place reinforced concrete substructure on a matt or grade beam system over a deep foundation system.

The project will be environmentally focused being designed to achieve LEED Gold certification and incorporate numerous sustainable design strategies and highly-efficient building systems. This approach to design of Park Tower will provide a healthy work environment for occupants, contribute to the community with an environmentally sensitive building and provide lower operating expenses to the tenants.
