This project involved the design and construction of the MUNI Metro East Light Rail Maintenance and Operations Facility on a former 13-acre landfill site owned by the Port of San Francisco to accommodate the Breda light rail vehicle and Historic Trolley vehicles.
AGS provided project management in two areas: project engineering and management billing support. The overall project engineer was responsible for coordinating the work between the 16 technical disciplines to ensure compatible designs and minimize conflicts. The team provided technical construction support throughout the duration of construction, as required.
This project was awarded the American Public Works Association 2009 Project of the Year Award for its category.
