The International Terminal Phase 2 project encompasses the renovation of the Departures and Arrivals Levels to meet current forecasted international passenger growth and to increase revenue-generating opportunities. In response to COVID-19, a significant portion of the project was temporarily postponed. The project scope includes: providing new, phased consolidated secondary screening, converting the existing immigration area into office space, reconfiguring the baggage recheck counters, providing new exit lane technology, and upgrading airport services to support passenger hospitality and processing.
The arrivals level work includes Federal Inspection Services improvements to support international arrivals at Boarding Area B and the conversion of the Claim Unit from domestic to international.
The departures level work includes expansion of Boarding Area screening checkpoints, enabling work for duty-free concessions, hold room improvements, and restroom expansion.
The project site is located within the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Inspection Service area and therefore must remain fully operational during the course of the project
