The International Terminal Phase 2 project encompassed the renovation of the Departures and Arrivals Levels to meet forecasted international passenger growth and increase revenue-generating opportunities. The project site was located within the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Inspection Service area and therefore remained fully operational during the course of the project.
The project scope included providing new, phased consolidated secondary screening, converting the existing immigration area into office space, reconfiguring the baggage recheck counters, providing new exit lane technology, and upgrading airport services to support passenger hospitality and processing.
The arrivals level work included Federal Inspection Services improvements to support international arrivals at Boarding Area B and the conversion of the Claim Unit from domestic to international.
The departures level work included expansion of Boarding Area screening checkpoints, enabling work for duty-free concessions, hold room improvements, and restroom expansion.
